Figuring Out Your Best Times to Post
What to do?
Facebook Insights shows when your followers are online, check to see if your other social platforms also provide this data.
There are tools, like Followerwonk that show the active times for Twitter followers.
Social media scheduling tools, like Agora Pulse and e-Clincher will show stats of days and times in which your followers are most active.
Run tests using posts and analyzing the engagement data. There is quite a bit of work to do here, this is something that will take a full 30 days tin order to produce useful scheduling data. You are looking for patterns that reveal themselves when you alternate similar posts on at least three different platforms, on different days and at different times.
Take into account the new Facebook algorithms that determine whether a post will actually appear in your followers news feeds at all! We recommend beginning your tests early in the day. Try 6:00 am... Think of it as Facebooks "algorithm" being an air traffic controller... It is has 1,000's of planes circling the runway at peak times (11:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m.) and it carefully selects which planes (posts) will land in your particular runway (newsfeed)...
We are thinking that there are less planes in the morning and you may get priority. Your post will be sitting in the news feeds when your followers jump on between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.. You certainly won't be competing with their "friends posts" which have priority for the limited spots (inventory) available, who heck posts at 6:00 a.m. besides businesses?
Feel free to comment on any discoveries that you have made figuring out the best times to post.
